NORTH-CHURCH, or Berkhamsted St. Mary's. This is a newly erected Parish, taken out of Berkhamsted St. Peter's, and therefore not mentioned in is named from the Situation, North from the other. The extent of St Peter's Parish was so great, that for the Convenience of those at a Distance, this was made. The Lady Chapel is one of the oldest parts of St Peter’s Church, built probably in the first quarter of the 13th century. Located in the north-east corner of the church, this bright and spacious chapel is a rare surviving example of the medieval heritage of Berkhamsted and is steeped in history.
